Ernest Miller Hemingway was a famous American novelist and short story writer. Some of his works that so popular are “The Old Man and the Sea”, “The Sun Also Rises”, and “A Farewell to Arms”. He was well-known becuase of his writing style; simple, and direct. He died on 2 July 1961.

This story is about the two waiters and an old man (and they are the main characters). They wait the drunk old man to leave the cafe. They discuss about the old man’s suicidal attempt. They knew that the old man was deaf, and that makes the waiters more difficult to expel him. So the younger waiter gets angry and impatient about it, and leave the older one. The theme of this story is about the plainness and nothingness of life. Both of this story and the characters are credible and lifelike, maybe sometimes it happens in Indonesia too. One thing that i like, is that they are going to a problem while they talk about the old man’s life or suicidal attempt. They have a contrast perspective of life (between the young one and the old one). I like the old waiter the most, because he is patient and wise.

I can relate about one thing in that story. That is the differences perspective between two pepole, not just because the age difference, but because everybody can has a different background and experiences in their life. That makes someone point of view differs to others.

I don’t drinik beers and alcohols. I’ve tried once and i didn’t like it.

Personally, I like the story. I will rate it 7/10. The story is quite good, but i don’t really fit with the type of story. I like adventure, mystery, and fiction better. But i do have a favourite part, and that is the long convertation between the waiters. I love the way how the writer writes those convertations.

If i could change the story, I wouldn’t. This story is at it’s finest.

What i can get from this story, is everyone has a different perspective/point of view about this world, about how things happen in this world. That happens because we all have experience different things in different ways. So, we have to respect other’s opinions, and responses.

I will recommend this story to my friends. Because the moral value of this story (like what have I written) is really crucial for their life. They will respect other’s opinions and responses better.

People that are wise would like this story. They would know the meanings behind the story well. The lazy-readers also would love this. Because it is short, and don’t have a very intenste part in it.

I recommend a novel, “So B It”. I forgot the writer, but it’s good. It’s easy to understand, a little bit fiction, it has adventure content in it.
